Category 09 · Layer 5: Compensation

Sales Compensation & Incentive Management

This is how the commercial team actually gets paid: commission calculation, plan design, payout automation, dispute resolution. It's also directly downstream of the comp plan problem we've written about elsewhere on this site: seat and signature based pay plans that don't hold up once an agent is doing part of the work. We looked for the same evidence we look for everywhere else: can an agent recalculate a commission or flag a plan discrepancy on its own, or is "AI" here still a copilot a human has to act through?

None of the vendors below currently have a documented affiliate program open to a publisher site like this: most run reseller or customer referral bonus programs instead, which we've noted individually. Every link goes straight to the vendor's own site, untracked. See our full disclosure.
01CaptivateIQ
Limited: REST API writes, no MCP No self serve affiliate link

Sales commission & incentive compensation management: custom pricing · captivateiq.com

A commission calculation, plan design, and quota/territory planning platform serving both enterprise and mid market teams, with 800+ customers across financial services, tech, manufacturing, and medical devices.

Agentic angle: "Assist AI" helps users troubleshoot formulas and search documentation via natural language: a copilot, not an actor. No official MCP server exists; the only third party MCP connector we found is explicitly read only and states plan logic changes still have to go through the CaptivateIQ web platform directly. The API is the exception to that. CaptivateIQ runs a public first party developer site with token auth, documented rate limits and real write endpoints: Data Worksheet batch update and bulk import among them. An agent can change commission data here; it just has to go through the REST API, because no agent interface is sold to you. Verified against vendor documentation, 21 Aug 2026.
Visit CaptivateIQ → Runs a $250 refer a friend bonus for existing customers, not a publisher affiliate program.
02Everstage
Medium: agentic branded, no MCP found No affiliate program

AI first revenue platform (commissions, CPQ & planning), custom pricing · everstage.com

An "AI first" platform unifying sales commissions, quoting, and revenue planning for enterprise customers handling complex comp scenarios: multi tier accelerators, split credits, overlapping territories.

Agentic angle: The most agentic branded vendor in this category: "Agent Core," launched August 2025, includes an Onboarding Assistant that auto assigns new hires to comp plans and modules, the closest thing to a genuine autonomous write action we found among all four vendors here. But it's framed as thinking "alongside" RevOps/Finance teams rather than acting independently, and no MCP server, audit trail, or scoped permission architecture is documented.
03QuotaPath
Limited: REST API writes, no MCP No affiliate program

Commission tracking & compensation management: from $35/user/mo + $525/mo platform fee · quotapath.com

The only vendor in this category with fully transparent, public pricing: Growth and Premium tiers plus a Strategic tier with a dedicated comp analyst. Aimed at mid market to enterprise RevOps and Finance teams.

Agentic angle: "Atlas," an AI Revenue Strategist, analyzes attainment distribution and payout efficiency and helps design and validate comp plans: genuinely useful, but QuotaPath's own framing is explicit that Atlas is advisory: "QuotaPath executes your commissions. Atlas makes sure they're worth executing in the first place." No agent initiated recalculation, dispute resolution, or MCP server found. The API tells a different story from Atlas. QuotaPath publishes a public REST API covering deals, commissions, paths, teams and users, with POST, PUT, PATCH and DELETE writes under workspace API tokens. No first party MCP server, but an agent you build yourself can act. Verified against vendor documentation, 21 Aug 2026.
Visit QuotaPath → Runs an application based partner program for CRM consultants: the benefit is pricing for their referred customers, not a commission for the referrer.
04Spiff (Salesforce)
Limited: API writes, no Spiff MCP No affiliate program

Incentive compensation management, Salesforce add on: from $75/user/mo · salesforce.com/sales/incentive-compensation-management

Spiff was acquired by Salesforce (deal closed 2024) and no longer operates as an independent brand: it's now sold as "Salesforce Spiff," an ICM add on for Sales Cloud, also purchasable by non Salesforce customers. Evaluate it as a Salesforce purchase, not a standalone vendor.

Agentic angle: Salesforce has real, platform wide MCP support documented under Agentforce, but we found no Spiff specific documentation of agent initiated commission recalculation, plan discrepancy resolution, or payout actions. Treat this as "Salesforce's MCP strategy is real; Spiff's piece of it is unconfirmed," not as Spiff itself being agent ready. Spiff's own developer site does document creating, updating and deleting commission objects, so a write path exists via API even though no Spiff specific MCP server or Agentforce action does. Verified against vendor documentation, 21 Aug 2026.
Visit Salesforce Spiff → The general Salesforce Partner Program exists (revenue share, application based) but doesn't clearly cover Spiff specifically.

None of the four vendors we reviewed here have vendor confirmed evidence of an agent actually recalculating a commission, resolving a plan dispute, or pushing a payout on its own. Compensation is the one category on this site where "agentic" hasn't shown up in the product yet: only in the marketing.
